Ouch!!! Iverson's entire career was based on SPEED and speed is a young man's attribute. He NEVER took the time to develop any other aspect of his game because he was too busy with FUCKERY. Thank you for taking it back to basketball for real. He's over 30 and he never prepped for this day. Don't people remember this is the guy who complained about practice?!!! He was so arrogant that he thought he didn't have to practice with his team. Why would ANY coach or knowledgeable fan want this guy on their team. He represents an era and mindset of style over substance. I'll pass.
Nimrod,
what's up BlackMan.
I guess I'm looking at this strictly from a business perspective. I have nothing against A.I. personally because I don't know him. I just can't think of any other plausible reason why no team would give a healthy A.I. a shot. They treated him like one of those CBA players who beg for ten day contracts.
As far as the cooning, the NBA and David Stern differ from the recording industry in it's exploitative behavior. The NBA at least tries to enforce a code of conduct that players have to adhere to. Being that a lot of these players are HUMAN BEINGS from undisciplined backgrounds, some of them are bound to fall short of the perfection expected of them by the league. What I don't like is when the media tries to enforce this massa-boy relationship between the players and coaches/team owners. They act as if the black athlete must shut up and do as he's told. That might be cool when dudes is rookies but when they start pushin 30 guys don't want to be treated like "boys."
The white media almost went ballistic when Dwight Howard questioned his white coachs' play calling during the playoff's. Mind you, Dwight is just the kind of innocent, harmless, and neutered negro they find acceptable. The end result was that Orlando made it all the way to the finals after Dwight admonished his silly coach about his dumb play calling- much to the disappointment of the white lynch mob sports media.... If any player has a dispute with his team over money or the coach's decision making, the media immediately comes down on the BlackMan 99.9999999999 percent of the time. This is a god damn business and these are grown ass men. Any black man has the right to do what he has to do to secure the most amount of money he can for his family. Because the CEO is definitely going get his.
